Calling all young DJs! Do you have what it takes to bring the beats to the next level? IT’S THE SHIPFAM has teamed up with DJ Playground to bring you Deck Selecta Jr., an exciting DJ competition exclusively for aspiring DJs between the ages 7-17 years old. This is your chance to showcase your skills, win big, and even perform live on board the highly anticipated IT’S THE SHIPFAM family cruise festival!
Here’s everything you need to know about this epic competition:
What’s at Stake?
The winner of Deck Selecta Jr. will score an Interior Twin Cabin on IT’S THE SHIPFAM and have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform on deck during the cruise, sailing from December 7-10, 2024. Not only will you get to enjoy all the fun and festivities, but you’ll also be part of the action, spinning tracks for a crowd of excited shipmates!
Submissions Period 10-20 October
Got a mix that will wow the crowd? Submit your 15-30-minute DJ mix for a chance to compete through HERE. Whether it’s electronic, hip-hop, or a genre all your own, we want to hear your best set! Show off your creativity, skills, and passion for music.
On Ground Finals 26 October at DJ Playground Academy
The top 3 entrants selected, will move on to the final round happening at DJ Playground in Kota Damansara on the 26 October. Finalists will have to perform their set live in front of our panel of judges where the winner will be picked.
Finals Performance Requirements:
– Finalists must be accompanied by a legal guardian during the on-ground finals.
– Each finalist will be required to perform a new 20-30 minute live DJ mix set before a panel of judges.
– Failure to attend the on-ground finals will result in disqualification, and the organizer reserves the right to select a replacement finalist or winner at their discretion.
Judges will select One (1) Grand Prize Winner based on the following criteria:
– Music Selection
– Stage Presence
– Technical Skills
How to Enter
– Prepare your best 15-30 minute DJ mix.
